Double Trouble, Tee Morris and Philippa Ballantine (author audio interview) The Case of the Pitcher’s Pendant and Digital Magic

Double Trouble

 08–08–08

A date to remember not only because

 it’s Fantasy novelist Pip Ballantine’s birthday…

Tee describes Double Trouble best in this clip from his website:

Double Trouble is where Pip and I make 08-08-08 our day on Amazon,” says Tee. “Between our respective podcasts, mailing lists, and a media blitz spanning across podcasts and live radio shows, we’re asking our readers and listeners to buy The Case of The Pitcher’s Pendant and Digital Magic. Our goal is to get not one but two Dragon Moon titles into Amazon’s Top Ten lists.” Authors Scott Sigler and Seth Harwood accomplished similar feats on their own Amazon Days (Sigler on April 1, Harwood on March 16), but this promotion will be the first time two authors are working together to dominate Amazon’s charts. “Double Trouble just made sense to us,” Tee continues. “We’re currently collaborating on both our podcasts (MOREVI: Remastered and Chasing the Bard), both new titles are sequels to award-nominated books, and bottom line — we work well together.”

Digital magicDigital Magic:

Abandoned in our world, Puck, the Trickster from Chasing the Bard, is much changed. Magic has dimmed, and science has taken its place. In the small English village of Penherem though memories of the Fey are stirring, Puck senses things he has not for centuries, and is drawn to find out what lurks beneath the surface of the village. Magic may be gone from most of England, but Art still dwells in other lands, and a child from distant New Zealand may carry within her the seeds of its rebirth. (description from Pip’s website)

PitcherThe Case of the Pitcher’s Pendant:

Chicago, 1930, and following the financial calamity of Black Thursday, Billi is doing everything he can to keep his business afloat. The change in seasons, though, brings him a case that appears to be a true blessing from The Fates. Chicago Cubs Manager Joe McCarthy suspects something fishy with the Baltimore Mariners, a new team in the league, and he’s hiring Billi to look into it. What appears to be the dream job - being paid to research and attend baseball games - turns out to be a nightmare as he discovers one of the Nine Talismans of Acryonis somewhere in play at Wrigley. And wouldn’t you know it - with two outs and bases loaded, the heavy hitter of the Underworld “Big Al” gets early parole from The Big Dugout and is swinging two in the Batter’s Circle (description from Amazon).

TeeHe Said:

  • “Podcasting provides a great gateway for international authors to introduce their works to North American audiences.”
  • “Twitter is one of those Web 2.0 social media initiatives—along with podcasting and blogging—it really does provide authors connections between their readers and other authors—invaluable.

Together:

  • After Double Trouble, Tee & Pip plan to collaborate on a Steam Punk (sub-genre of Sci Fi / Fantasy) project ~ They have such wonderful rapport and electric energy, there’s no doubt whatever they create will be a hit.
